3D Print Time Estimator

Compare 3D print settings before you slice.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Coarse extrusion-only estimate for a square prism with constant cross-section: 0.4 mm line width, two walls, and four solid layers at each end (at most the total layer count). Excludes travel, supports, warm-up, acceleration and flow limits. Confirm in a slicer.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter model height, footprint area, layer height, infill, and print speed.
  2. Estimate the duration and layer count.
  3. Compare settings before confirming them in your slicer.

How it works

Assumes a constant square cross-section, 0.4 mm line width, two walls, and four solid layers at each end, capped at the total layers. Layers = ceil(height / layer height). Convert cm² to mm² by multiplying by 100; inner area = max(0, sqrt(area) − 1.6 mm)². Solid layers use the full area; others use wall area plus infill × inner area. Divide their summed areas by line width and speed for extrusion seconds.

Scope

It excludes travel, supports, retractions, warm-up, cooling, acceleration, and printer-specific behavior. Use a slicer for a production estimate.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Is this the final print time?

No. It is a browser-local comparison estimate. A slicer has the detailed toolpath needed for a final estimate.
