Angular Velocity Calculator
Enter a rotational speed in RPM to see its three equivalent angular-speed values.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter a finite rotational speed at or above zero.
- Read radians per second, degrees per second, and revolutions per second.
- Use the values directly in formulas that require angular units.
Formula and scope
rad/s = 2πn/60; deg/s = 6n; rev/s = n/60, where n is RPM. This is rotational speed, not surface speed. No radius is included, so linear or surface speed is not calculated. rev/s is revolutions per second (mechanical frequency).

GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Why use radians per second?
Radians express angular change in the unit used by many physics formulas, including rotational kinetic energy and angular velocity relationships.
Is rev/s the same as rad/s?
No. One revolution is 2π radians, so the numeric values differ by a factor of 2π.
Does this calculate surface speed?
No. Surface speed also requires a radius, which is not an input here.
