A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Search by character, name, decimal, 0x hexadecimal, or 0o octal value.
- Filter the table to printable characters, control characters, or the complete 0–127 range.
- Read or copy the exact character and its code values from the matching rows.
The original 7-bit ASCII range
This reference contains exactly values 0 through 127. Printable entries run from space through tilde. C0 controls 0 through 31 and DEL (127) are listed separately with standard names and visible symbols.
Values stay explicit
Every row shows decimal, 0x hexadecimal, 0o octal, and either the printable character or a readable control description. The table does not include extended ASCII, Unicode lookalikes, or an encoding conversion.
A local searchable reference
Filtering and search run in your browser over a small built-in table. Nothing is uploaded, and the neighboring ASCII Text Drawer remains focused on making banner art while Text to ASCII Binary remains focused on converting entered text.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does ASCII include accented letters or emoji?
No. ASCII is the 7-bit range U+0000 through U+007F. Accented letters, emoji, and other Unicode characters are outside this table.
What is the difference between printable and control characters?
Printable characters have visible glyphs, from space through tilde. Control characters are assigned communication or device functions and are shown with names such as LF, TAB, ESC, and DEL.
Is this an extended ASCII reference?
No. It shows the standard 128-entry ASCII set only. Extended 8-bit code pages differ by encoding and are intentionally outside this reference.
