How to use this tool

A speed change, not a pitch-preserving edit
The tool renders the decoded audio at the selected playback rate. Faster speeds shorten the result and raise pitch; slower speeds lengthen it and lower pitch. It does not use a time-stretch algorithm, so it cannot keep voices or music at their original pitch.
Browser decoding and WAV export
Input support depends on the browser and its installed media codecs; common WAV, MP3, M4A/AAC, OGG, and WebM audio may work when that browser can decode them. The export is always uncompressed 16-bit PCM WAV, not a re-encoded MP3, M4A, OGG, or WebM file. Original metadata, cover art, and compressed bytes are not copied.
Local limits and privacy
One source file may be up to 100 MB and 10 minutes after decoding. The rendered result may be up to 20 minutes or 250 MB of PCM WAV data. Decoding, rendering, listening, and downloading occur in this browser; the selected audio is not uploaded.

Common questions
Which audio files can I use?
Choose an audio file your current browser can decode. File extensions and MIME types alone cannot guarantee support, so the tool checks the actual browser decode and reports an error if it fails.
Why is my download a WAV file?
Web Audio can render decoded samples in the browser, but browsers do not provide a standard encoder for MP3, AAC, OGG, or WebM. This tool writes those samples as a clear, broadly supported PCM WAV file.
Will changing speed preserve pitch?
No. This is conventional playback-rate processing: faster playback raises pitch and slower playback lowers it.
Does the tool upload my recording?
No. The file is decoded and rendered locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server by this tool.
