A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose Encode or Decode.
  2. Enter up to 50,000 characters of text or Base32.
  3. Convert, then copy or download the result.

Standard RFC 4648 format

Encoding uses the standard A–Z and 2–7 alphabet and adds trailing equals signs when required. Decoding accepts uppercase or lowercase letters, optional valid padding, and whitespace between encoded characters.

Text conversion stays local

Text is encoded as UTF-8 before conversion and decoded back as UTF-8. Malformed Base32, non-canonical trailing bits, and invalid UTF-8 are rejected. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

What alphabet does this use?

The standard RFC 4648 Base32 alphabet: A–Z and 2–7, with equals-sign padding when required.

Can I decode lowercase or unpadded input?

Yes. Decoding is case-insensitive and accepts valid input with or without trailing padding.

Can it convert arbitrary files?

No. This tool converts UTF-8 text only. Use the Base64 file tool for local files.

Is Base32 encryption?

No. Base32 is a reversible text encoding, not encryption or a security feature.
