Battery Cycle Budget Calculator

Calculate cycle energy, cycle-count budget years and total budgeted energy using your stated cycle definition.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Cycle energy = capacity × DoD/100 × efficiency/100. Budget years = rated cycles ÷ annual cycles when annual cycles > 0. Total energy = cycle energy × rated cycles.

Capacity and cycle counts are nonnegative; percentages are 0–100. Rated and annual cycles must use the same definition. This does not model chemistry or calendar degradation, change the rated cycles for DoD, or predict actual battery life. No parameters are recommended.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Calculate cycle energy, cycle-count budget years and total budgeted energy using your stated cycle definition.
  2. Calculate the result.
  3. Copy the report or download it as TXT.

Formula and units

Cycle energy = capacity × DoD/100 × efficiency/100. Budget years = rated cycles ÷ annual cycles when annual cycles > 0. Total energy = cycle energy × rated cycles.

Scope

Capacity and cycle counts are nonnegative; percentages are 0–100. Rated and annual cycles must use the same definition. This does not model chemistry or calendar degradation, change the rated cycles for DoD, or predict actual battery life. No parameters are recommended.
