Binary to String Converter

Convert space-separated binary groups to ASCII or UTF-8 text, or encode text as binary bytes in your browser.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

ASCII decoding accepts 7-bit or 8-bit groups with values 0–127. UTF-8 decoding requires 8-bit groups and a valid UTF-8 byte sequence. Encoding outputs space-separated 8-bit groups. Groups may be separated by spaces, tabs or line breaks. No prefixes or punctuation.

Decoded control characters may be invisible. UTF-8 BOM characters are preserved. No replacement is made for invalid data. All conversion stays in this browser.

Common questions

Does each group always represent one character?
