- Review the total lease cost, equivalent monthly cost, and excess mileage charge.
- Use the result as a contract arithmetic estimate before reviewing the full agreement.
Contract arithmetic estimate
Total lease cost = down payment + monthly payment × number of periods + max(0, expected mileage − allowed mileage) × number of periods × excess-mile rate. Equivalent monthly cost divides total cost by the number of periods.
Limited scope
This calculator uses only the values you provide. It excludes taxes, registration, insurance, maintenance, acquisition or disposition fees, early termination, damage, and other contract charges. It does not recommend whether to lease.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What does the excess mileage result represent?
It is the estimated charge for mileage above the allowed amount in each period, multiplied by the number of periods and the supplied per-mile rate.
Are taxes and other lease fees included?
No. Enter only the contract arithmetic covered by these fields; taxes, maintenance, termination, damage, and other fees are excluded.
Does this tool recommend a lease?
No. It reports arithmetic from your assumptions and does not provide leasing advice.
