Checksum Verifier
Compare a local file or UTF-8 text with an expected SHA-256, SHA-384, or SHA-512 hexadecimal checksum in your browser.
Choose the input and enter the expected checksum.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Choose text or a local file and select its digest algorithm.
- Paste the expected hexadecimal checksum.
- Verify and review the match result and calculated checksum.
SHA-256 / SHA-384 / SHA-512
Only native Web Crypto SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 are supported. Hex comparison ignores letter case, whitespace, and an optional 0x prefix. Expected lengths are 64, 96, and 128 digits respectively; MD5, SHA-1, Base64, and checksum manifest files are unsupported.
Checksum Verifier
Files up to 20 MiB and UTF-8 text up to 1 MiB are processed locally, including empty inputs. Files are read as exact bytes with no decoding or newline conversion. No input is uploaded. A matching checksum does not prove authenticity, a trusted source, or safety; the supplied expected value must come from a source you trust.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What does a match confirm?
Only that the calculated digest equals the supplied expected digest. It does not verify a signature or identify the publisher. Unsupported browser digest operations are reported clearly.
