A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Set the step size and optional goal, then select Apply settings.
  2. Use Add or Subtract, or press Space/Up to add and Down to subtract.
  3. Select Reset whenever you want to return to zero. Your settings and count stay in this browser only.

Flexible counting controls

Choose any positive whole-number step. Add increases the count, Subtract decreases it, and the count never goes below zero. Space and Arrow Up add; Arrow Down subtracts; R resets.

Optional goal tracking

A goal is optional and must be a positive whole number when provided. The progress display reports the current count and goal, while counting continues beyond the goal when needed.

Private browser storage

The count, step, and goal are saved in this browser using local storage so the page can restore them later. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can the count become negative?

No. Subtracting from zero leaves the count at zero.

What do the keyboard shortcuts do?

Space or Arrow Up adds one step, Arrow Down subtracts one step, and R resets the count. Shortcuts work when the page is focused outside a text field.

Is the goal required?

No. Leave it blank to use the counter without a target.

Where is my data saved?

The count, step, and goal are saved only in this browser’s local storage.
