Comma-delimited UTF-8 CSV, up to 10 MB. The first row becomes the table header.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Paste comma-delimited CSV or choose a UTF-8 CSV file.
  2. Convert it and review the generated header, separator, and data rows.
  3. Copy the Markdown or download it as a .md file.

Strict CSV parsing

The parser uses commas as delimiters and supports double-quoted fields, doubled quote escapes, commas inside quoted fields, and line breaks inside quoted fields. All rows must have the same number of columns. It does not infer semicolon, tab, or locale-specific delimiters.

Markdown-safe cells

The first row becomes the table header and a standard --- separator row is added. Backslashes and vertical bars are escaped, HTML-sensitive source characters are encoded, and line breaks inside cells become <br>. The converter does not infer alignment, data types, captions, or multi-row headers.

Local processing and limits

Reading, parsing, conversion, copying, and downloading happen in this browser. Data is not uploaded. Input and generated output are each limited to 10 MB; the tool expects UTF-8 text and creates a plain Markdown table.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Is my CSV uploaded?

No. The selected file or pasted text is processed only in this browser.

Which CSV row becomes the table header?

The first row. The converter adds the Markdown separator below it and treats every remaining row as table data.

What happens to pipes and line breaks inside cells?

Pipes and backslashes are escaped for Markdown. Embedded line breaks are represented with <br> so each record stays on one table row.

Does it detect semicolon-separated files?

No. This tool implements comma-delimited CSV only.
