Font Subsetter Estimate
Paste representative text to count unique Unicode characters. This tool never processes a font file.
Font Subsetter Estimate
This estimates unique characters only. It never reads, generates, or modifies a font file.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste representative text.
- Estimate the unique character set.
- Download the plain-text character checklist.
Checklist only
The tool produces a character list for a later font workflow. It never reads, generates, subsets, or modifies a font file.
Estimate limitations
Unique character count is not a byte-size or visual glyph guarantee. Fonts may need ligatures, combining marks, variation selectors, layout tables, hinting, and fallback glyphs.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it subset a font?
No. It only counts characters in pasted text and downloads a checklist.
Does the count equal final font size?
No. Actual size depends on the font, glyph outlines, layout tables, and required metadata.
Is text uploaded?
No. Counting and checklist creation happen locally.
