Grade Curve Calculator
Enter one score and choose a transparent curve method. The result is a mathematical transformation, not an academic outcome prediction.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter a score from 0 to 100.
- Choose a curve method and set its bounded parameter.
- Calculate the adjusted score and review the formula used.
Three explicit methods
Add points uses adjusted = min(100, score + points). Linear rescale maps 0–source maximum to 0–100: adjusted = score ÷ source maximum × 100. Square-root curve uses adjusted = sqrt(score ÷ 100) × 100.
Bounded inputs and output
Scores stay between 0 and 100. Additive points range from 0 to 20, and the linear source maximum ranges from 1 to 100. Results are capped at 100 where the method requires it.
Interpretation
This tool only applies the selected arithmetic formula. It does not identify a school policy, assign a letter grade, or claim that a result improves an academic outcome.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Which method should I use?
Use the method that matches the grading rule you have been given. If no rule was provided, the tool cannot choose one for you.
Can the result exceed 100?
No. The displayed result is bounded at 100.
Does this assign a letter grade?
No. It returns an adjusted numeric score only.
