Grazing Days Calculator
Enter grazeable dry matter, daily intake per head, and head count to estimate how many days the entered pasture could supply.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter available grazeable dry matter in kg.
- Enter daily dry matter intake per head in kg.
- Enter a whole head count and calculate the static estimate.
Formula and units
Available dry matter in kg is divided by daily demand (kg per head per day × number of head). All entered animals are assumed to have the same intake.
Static estimate limitations
The calculation assumes all entered dry matter is consumed evenly. It does not account for residual cover, trampling, selective grazing, utilization loss, pasture regrowth, or differences between animals.
Local processing
Inputs stay in your browser. Use measured grazeable dry matter and suitable intake values; this is not veterinary or agronomic advice.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it include pasture regrowth?
No. It is a static calculation and does not add growth during the period.
Should I enter total pasture cover?
Enter the amount considered available to graze, not cover that must remain as residual.
Is input uploaded?
No. Processing is local.
