Exact midpoint cuts
Vertical mode creates left and right pages; horizontal mode creates bottom and top pages. Each original page is split at half its width or height, including odd point dimensions.
Known PDF limits
Interactive links, annotations, signatures, XFA forms, and encryption are not carried into the new document. Encrypted, signed, XFA, or damaged PDFs are rejected before processing.

Common questions
What is the output order?
Vertical splits output left then right by default. Horizontal splits output bottom then top by default. Reverse order swaps the two halves for every original page.
Does the split keep text and vector artwork sharp?
Yes. Each half is embedded as a vector page form; it is not rasterized.
What happens to an odd-sized page?
The midpoint can be fractional PDF points, so both halves exactly cover the original page without dropping a row or column.
Which files are refused?
Password-protected or encrypted PDFs, signed PDFs, PDFs containing XFA forms, damaged PDFs, files over 50 MB, and PDFs over 200 pages are not supported.
