Home Battery Payback Calculator

Estimate home battery payback and cumulative savings over up to 15 years using your installed cost, daily saving and annual degradation.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Use the same currency for cost and daily saving. Results use that currency; there is no currency conversion.

Simple undiscounted estimate. Electricity prices and usage stay fixed; savings decline only by your degradation rate. Excludes financing, maintenance, replacement, taxes and incentives.

Year n saving = daily saving × 365 × (1 − degradation / 100)^(n − 1). Cumulative saving is the sum of each year.

Common questions

How is fractional payback calculated?

The fractional payback assumes savings accrue evenly within the first year that recovers the cost. Year 1 has no degradation; a 100% rate leaves no savings after year 1.

Zero daily saving cannot recover a positive installed cost.

No payback within the selected horizon.
