Image Dimensions Checker

Select PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP or BMP images. Header measurements and browser-decoded dimensions are reported separately.

20 files, 20 MB/file, 100 MB/selection; 10,000 px/side and 40 MP. Known header dimensions are checked before decoding and decoded dimensions afterward.

The browser applies imageOrientation: from-image. JPEG EXIF orientation may swap displayed axes. Header dimensions are unrotated encoded values; EXIF fields are not parsed. Only one browser-decoded image/frame is measured. Animation frame count, every frame, DPI and print size are not measured.

Selected files stay in this page. No uploads, external services or previews. SVG and formats outside the recognized five raster families are rejected; a matching header is not complete format validation.

Choose 1–20 local files.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Select local images.
  2. Run inspection and review every file, including rejected files.
  3. Copy or download the complete frozen report; changing selection clears it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can decoded dimensions differ from the header?

Yes. Browser orientation handling can rotate JPEG axes. Decoder support and behavior vary; both measurements have different provenance.

Are all animation frames inspected?

No. A single browser-decoded image/frame is measured. Frame count and per-frame dimensions remain unknown.

Are files sent anywhere?

No. Local browser APIs read and decode only your selected files.
