A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF image up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels.
  2. Review basic browser-decoded properties; for JPEG only, inspect the supported EXIF fields when present.
  3. Choose another image to replace the current details. Nothing is uploaded.

What this viewer reads

For JPEG, it reads common EXIF tags for camera make and model, capture date/time, orientation, and selected exposure or lens values when present. For JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF, it also shows the filename, MIME type, file size, decoded dimensions, and last-modified time when available.

Formats and limits

JPEG EXIF parsing supports common APP1/TIFF structures only; maker notes, XMP, IPTC, GPS coordinates, thumbnails, and many vendor-specific tags are not decoded. PNG, WebP, and GIF are shown with basic file and dimension properties only. HEIC/HEIF, TIFF, RAW camera files, SVG, and other formats are unsupported.

Local and best-effort

The selected file is read in this browser and is not uploaded. A malformed, unusual, or truncated EXIF block may yield partial or no tag values; this is not a complete metadata inventory.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does this read all EXIF metadata?

No. It reads a limited set of common EXIF fields from JPEG APP1/TIFF data. Maker notes, GPS, XMP, IPTC, and vendor-specific fields are outside the supported scope.

Which files include EXIF results?

Only JPEG files are parsed for the supported EXIF fields. PNG, WebP, and GIF show basic file properties and dimensions.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The file is inspected in your browser.
