How to use this tool

Exact size with an optional ratio lock
When the lock is on, changing width recalculates height and changing height recalculates width from the source image ratio. Turn it off to enter both dimensions independently.
Local conversion and format limits
Canvas creates the result in your browser and keeps the source JPEG, PNG, or WebP format. The resized copy does not retain source metadata. Output is limited to 10,000 pixels per side and 40 megapixels.

Common questions
Can I resize by width only?
Yes. Keep the aspect ratio locked, then change width; height is calculated automatically.
Can this make an image larger?
Yes, but enlarging cannot restore detail that is missing from the source and may look soft.
Does it preserve transparency?
PNG and WebP output can preserve transparency. JPEG has no transparency, and the source format is retained.
