Final volume and containers

All volumes use the selected unit. Price is per one of that same unit; no unit conversion. L

For 1:N stock:water, T=N+1; for stock in N total parts, T=N. Final known: S=Q/T, W=Q×(T−1)/T. Stock known: S=Q, W=Q×(T−1), F=Q×T. Water known: S=Q/(T−1), W=Q, F=S+W. Strength=100×S/F; cost=S×price. Container mode uses ceil(S/size) with exact decimal ceiling; unused=count×size−S.

Nominal volumes are additive. Stock:water requires N≥0; stock in N total requires N≥1. Known volume and optional price must be nonnegative. Zero water parts with known positive water is impossible; known zero water is nonunique. Zero final volume has undefined strength. This is ratio algebra, not active-ingredient concentration, mixing, compatibility or product safety advice.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose final-volume/container mode or a ratio convention and known final, stock or water volume.
  2. Optionally enter stock price and 1–20 comparison N values, then calculate.
  3. Copy the report or download it as TXT.

Common questions

How do the two ratio conventions differ?

Stock:water 1:3 has four total parts and 25% stock; one stock part in three total parts has 33.33333333333333% stock. Choose the intended convention explicitly.
