A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste INI text or choose a local .ini, .cfg, .conf, or .txt file.
- Choose whether numeric and boolean-looking values should be typed; leading-zero values stay strings.
- Review the JSON and Section Explorer, then copy or download the result.
Practical INI rules
The parser accepts [section] headers, key=value and key: value pairs, whole-line ; and # comments, and quoted values. Keys before the first section belong to the default section. Repeated keys keep the last value and produce a warning; repeated sections merge and produce a warning.
Local and bounded
Text is processed in this browser. Input is limited to 200,000 characters and 10,000 lines so a pasted configuration cannot make the page unresponsive. Malformed lines remain visible in warnings instead of silently disappearing.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Are values numbers by default?
No. Values are strings by default. Optional type parsing recognizes finite numbers and true or false, while values with leading zeroes remain strings.
What happens to duplicate keys?
The last value wins and a warning identifies the line and key.
Is my configuration uploaded?
No. Parsing, JSON generation, and downloads happen locally in your browser.
