A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Choose a browser-decodable audio file.
- Select 8 kHz or 16 kHz and optional peak normalization.
- Create and download the mono PCM WAV.
Telephony output
Output is always mono, 16-bit PCM, at 8 kHz or 16 kHz. Optional peak processing scales samples so the highest absolute sample reaches the selected level.
Browser codec limits
This tool uses Web Audio decoding. MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, Ogg, and WebM support depends on the browser and operating system; it does not include a server codec or upload.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Can I export MP3 or μ-law?
No. The browser output is a standard mono PCM WAV; another encoder is required for MP3 or telephony codecs.
What does peak normalization do?
It scales the whole signal so its peak reaches the selected percentage, without clipping. Silence remains silent.
Does audio leave my device?
No. Decoding, resampling, and WAV writing happen locally.
