One real output format
The browser Web Audio API can decode several common audio formats, but browsers do not provide a standard built-in MP3, AAC, Ogg, or WebM encoder. This tool therefore creates only a real RIFF/WAVE file with 16-bit PCM samples. It never changes an extension on the source file or presents a copy as a conversion.
Limits and browser compatibility
Input files are limited to 50 MB and 10 minutes. The decoded audio is limited to mono or stereo, 96 kHz, and 192 MB of decoded PCM memory. WAV output is capped at 120 MB. Input support depends on the codecs available in your browser, so the tool verifies that the selected file can actually be decoded.
Local processing and privacy
Reading, decoding, WAV encoding, previewing, and downloading all happen in this browser. The selected audio is not uploaded. The exported WAV does not retain source metadata, cover art, compression, or container-specific data.

What audio formats can I convert?
You can select MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, Ogg, or WebM audio, provided your current browser can decode it. Browser and platform codec support varies, so selecting a listed extension does not guarantee conversion.
Why is the converted file larger?
The only output is uncompressed 16-bit PCM WAV. Compressed formats such as MP3 or AAC commonly take much less storage than PCM audio.
Can I convert audio to MP3 or M4A?
No. This tool explicitly exports WAV because browser Web Audio provides decoding but no standard encoder for those compressed formats. It does not fake those formats by renaming a file.
Does my audio leave my device?
No. The file is processed locally in the browser and is not uploaded by this tool.
