使い方
使い方
- Enter the distance between anchors and the unloaded or working sag at midspan.
- Enter the line load, including the person or other load expressed per unit length, and choose compatible units.
- Review the estimated horizontal and maximum support tension before checking the real line, anchors, hardware, and safety procedures.
A parabolic, uniformly loaded estimate
For span L, midspan sag f, and uniform load w, the calculator uses horizontal tension H = wL²/(8f). The maximum support resultant is T = √(H² + (wL/2)²), using the vertical reaction from half the span.
What the model leaves out
This is an idealized static estimate for a flexible line with level supports, a parabolic shape, and a load represented as force per unit horizontal span. It does not model elastic stretch, line mass changes, anchor movement, uneven loading, dynamic falls, rescue loads, hardware strength, knots, or safety factors.
Use a qualified setup for real loads
Treat the result as a calculation aid, not an engineering approval or safe working load. Real slackline systems can develop much larger transient forces than this static model. Follow the line and anchor manufacturer instructions and have the installation reviewed by a qualified professional.
よくある質問
あわせて知りたいこと
Does this calculate the tension in a slackline?
It estimates static horizontal and support tension with a uniform distributed load and parabolic sag model. Actual tension can differ substantially, especially during movement or falls.
Why does more sag reduce horizontal tension?
For the same span and load, H = wL²/(8f), so increasing sag f increases the angle of the line near the supports and reduces its horizontal component.
Should I use a person’s weight as the line load?
A person is a concentrated and dynamic load, while this calculator expects a distributed load. If you use an equivalent load for comparison, label it clearly and do not treat the result as a design value.
Is the result a safe working load?
No. It includes no safety factor and does not verify any line, anchor, connector, or installation rating.
