JavaScript Obfuscator

Paste JavaScript and create a bounded, local string-literal representation for casual readability reduction.

Up to 200,000 characters. Processing stays in your browser.

This is reversible representation only, not encryption or a security boundary. It does not execute, parse, rename identifiers, or generate source maps. Keep readable source and use a tested build tool for production.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Paste JavaScript up to 200,000 characters.
  2. Encode string literals locally and review the result as text.
  3. Copy or download the result, then keep the readable source and verify it in your own build pipeline.

Bounded text transformation

The tool scans single- and double-quoted literals with backslash-aware boundaries and rewrites their characters as hexadecimal escapes. It does not execute JavaScript, parse syntax, rename identifiers, reorder code, transpile, or bundle.

Obfuscation is not security

Escapes are reversible and provide no confidentiality, tamper resistance, or meaningful protection against analysis. Do not use this output to protect secrets or as a security boundary.

Keep source maps and readable source

Processing is local and the input is limited to 200,000 characters. The page does not create source maps; retain readable source and use a tested production build tool.

GOOD TO KNOW

Is the output encrypted?

No. Hexadecimal escapes are reversible and provide no security or confidentiality.

Does it generate a source map?

No. Keep your readable source and source maps in your project.
