Estimate

Fractional packages = area × (1 + spare percentage ÷ 100) ÷ coverage per package. Packages are rounded up to a whole unit. Needed mass uses the fractional package quantity; spare mass is purchased mass minus needed mass. Cost uses whole packages × price per package.

Use the matching coverage

Use the coverage stated for the exact bag or tub size and the kind of work you are doing. Products may state coverage per kilogram or for a different package size; convert it to coverage per package before entering it.

Scope

This estimate is for filling board joints and screw heads. It does not infer joint length, board layout or fastener count, and it does not estimate a full skim coat over the board face.

Does this estimate a full skim coat?

No. It covers joint and screw-head filling only. A full skim coat uses a different quantity basis.

Can I enter coverage per kilogram?

Convert the product figure to coverage for one package first, using that package’s mass.

Does the calculator recommend a spare percentage?
