The root must be an object. Each top-level key creates one key=value pair, encoded with encodeURIComponent and joined by & without a leading ?. Strings stay unchanged; numbers and booleans become text. Arrays and nested objects are serialized as compact JSON, including empty arrays and objects. Null and empty strings become empty values. An empty root object produces an empty string. Numbers use JavaScript numeric precision.
