Kebab Case Converter
Paste text to create a predictable kebab-case result with disclosed tokenization boundaries.
Unicode letters and numbers are retained. Case and letter-number transitions create tokens; punctuation, symbols, and whitespace become hyphens.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste up to 100,000 characters.
- Review the live kebab-case output.
- Copy the result or clear both fields.
Explicit tokenization rule
Unicode letters and numbers are retained. Lowercase-to-uppercase, acronym-to-word, and letter-number transitions create token boundaries. Any other character, including punctuation, symbols, combining marks, and Unicode whitespace, is a separator; repeated separators collapse and empty tokens are removed.
Case and number behavior
Every token is lowercased with JavaScript Unicode case mapping. Unicode letters such as Ä or Ж remain in the output, while scripts without case are unchanged. Conversion runs locally in your browser and text is not uploaded or stored.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
How are numbers handled?
Digits are preserved as their own tokens when adjacent to letters: version2Parser becomes version-2-parser.
What happens to punctuation and whitespace?
They separate tokens. Runs of separators become one hyphen, and leading or trailing separators do not create empty hyphens.
Does it transliterate Unicode or preserve acronyms?
No. Unicode letters and numbers are retained, but case normalization does not preserve all-caps abbreviations such as API.
