Mark a face rectangle, then export a new image
Choose a file, drag a rectangle over the face you want to obscure, then use blur, pixelation, or a solid color. This is a manual image-editing tool: it does not detect faces or other sensitive content for you.
JPEG, PNG, or WebP only; up to 20 MB, 10,000 px per side, and 40 megapixels. Files stay in this browser. SVG, GIF, HEIC, camera metadata, and animated images are not supported.
Drag on the image to set the rectangle. Touch uses the same one-finger drag. The shown preview can be scaled; coordinates below always refer to original decoded image pixels.
Pixelate uses square source blocks. Blur uses a CSS-pixel-equivalent radius in the original image.
Rectangle values are clamped to the image edges. A one-pixel-wide or one-pixel-high selection is valid; coordinates are rounded to whole decoded pixels.
Export keeps the decoded pixel dimensions. PNG and WebP can preserve transparency; JPEG uses an opaque white background. Canvas export does not retain source metadata, EXIF, ICC profile, or animation.
Review before sharing: this tool changes only the rectangles you apply. It cannot confirm that every face, identifier, reflection, thumbnail, metadata field, or recoverable clue has been removed. Inspect the exported file at useful zoom before relying on it for privacy.

- Drag a rectangle on the preview or enter whole-pixel X, Y, width, and height values; then choose pixelate, blur, or solid color.
- Apply one or more edits, use Undo or Clear all edits when needed, inspect the preview, and download a new image.
Manual rectangle and coordinate boundaries
Drag on the displayed image to choose a rectangle, or enter whole-number values for left X, top Y, width, and height. Coordinates refer to decoded image pixels, beginning at 0,0 in the top-left. The preview may scale to fit your screen, but the tool maps the selection back to the original pixel grid. Values are rounded and clamped to the image edges; a selection must have at least one pixel of width and height.
Three explicit local treatments
Pixelate redraws the selected source area through square blocks. Blur uses the browser canvas blur filter within the selected rectangle. Solid color paints an opaque chosen color over it. Each Apply action commits one rectangle to the current in-browser canvas; Undo removes only the latest committed edit, while Clear all edits restores the originally decoded image. The tool does not detect faces, text, people, documents, or sensitive information automatically.
Input, output, and privacy limits
Input accepts one JPEG, PNG, or WebP file at or below 20 MB, 10,000 pixels per side, and 40 megapixels. The decoded canvas and export retain pixel dimensions; export supports the source format, PNG, JPEG, and WebP. JPEG output flattens transparent pixels against white, while PNG and WebP can retain transparency. Browser canvas export removes metadata such as EXIF, embedded orientation, ICC profile, and animation. Processing, preview, and export occur locally in your browser; nevertheless, inspect the output carefully because this tool cannot promise that every identifying clue or recoverable detail is gone.

Does this automatically find faces or personal information?
No. You choose every rectangle yourself. The tool has no face detection, OCR, content classification, or automatic redaction.
What do the X and Y values mean?
They are zero-based coordinates in the decoded image. X grows from left to right and Y grows from top to bottom. Width and height are measured in whole pixels; the rectangle is clipped at the image edge.
Can I undo a face blur?
Undo removes the most recently applied rectangle only. Clear all edits returns to the decoded original loaded into this page. Neither option changes the original file on your device.
Does pixelation or blur guarantee private information is removed?
No. The tool makes no guarantee that an edit prevents recognition, reconstruction, metadata disclosure, or identification through nearby content. Use a solid cover when appropriate and review the exported file before sharing.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. File decoding, selection, editing, preview, and export run in your browser. The page does not send the image to a processing server.
