A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter an expression in x using JavaScript Math functions, such as (x*x-1)/(x-1).
- Choose a finite target or +∞/−∞ and select Evaluate.
- Read the sampled estimates; this is numerical evidence, not a symbolic proof.
Bounded sampling
Finite limits use offsets 1e−1 through 1e−6 on both sides. Infinite limits use x=10² through 10⁶ with the selected sign.
No symbolic claims
The result is an approximation. Undefined expressions, discontinuities, oscillation, overflow, and insufficient step sizes are reported rather than treated as proven limits.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this prove a limit exists?
No. It only samples a finite set of numeric points locally in your browser.
