Line-to-Phase Voltage Calculator

Select the connection type and conversion direction. This calculator assumes a balanced three-phase system and requires an explicit Y or Δ selection.

Balanced three-phase RMS only. Y: line = √3 × phase. Δ: line = phase. No electrical safety or equipment advice.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Select Y (star) or Δ (delta).
  2. Choose line-to-phase or phase-to-line conversion.
  3. Enter a positive RMS voltage and calculate.

Formula

Balanced three-phase RMS values: Y: line voltage = √3 × phase voltage. Δ: line voltage = phase voltage. The reverse conversions divide by √3 for Y and leave the value unchanged for Δ.

Scope and limits

This arithmetic conversion assumes balanced three-phase RMS voltages and the selected ideal connection. It does not provide electrical safety guidance or equipment recommendations.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Why must I choose Y or Δ?

The relationship differs by connection: Y uses a √3 factor; Δ uses a factor of 1.

Does this apply to unbalanced systems?

No. The calculator is explicitly limited to balanced three-phase RMS values.
