Lowercase
Paste text and convert its case with the browser’s Unicode-aware lowercase mapping for the page language.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste up to 100,000 characters.
- Choose whether to preserve or trim leading and trailing whitespace.
- Convert, review the exact result, then copy or download it.
Unicode-aware lowercase mapping
The browser applies String.prototype.toLocaleLowerCase with an explicit locale chosen from the page language: en, zh-CN, ja, ko, fil, or hi. Some Unicode mappings can expand or vary by locale; this tool does not transliterate, normalize, or rewrite punctuation.
Whitespace options are explicit
Preserve keeps the input text exactly around the converted letters. Trim removes only leading and trailing JavaScript whitespace after conversion; internal spaces, tabs, punctuation, and line breaks stay unchanged. Processing happens locally in this browser.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this translate or transliterate text?
No. It only applies Unicode lowercase mappings. It does not translate, transliterate, remove accents, or normalize text.
Can lowercase change the text length?
Yes. Unicode case mappings can expand some characters, so the output may contain more UTF-16 code units than the input.
What happens to spaces and line breaks?
They stay in place unless you choose Trim edges, which removes only whitespace at the beginning and end.
