A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the area, effective working width and operating speed.
  2. Enter your own field efficiency; no recommended percentage is supplied.
  3. Calculate and copy or download the report.

Formula and units

Capacity (ha/h) = width (m) × speed (km/h) ÷ 10 × efficiency (%) ÷ 100. Hours = area (ha) ÷ capacity (ha/h).

Scope

Width excludes overlap. Field efficiency expresses actual capacity as a share of theoretical capacity, including turning and operational delays. Choose values for your conditions. Results do not predict weather or calendar completion dates.

Common questions

Where do the definitions come from?

Iowa State University Extension describes field capacity in terms of width, speed and field efficiency. This tool independently converts SI units and supplies no machinery table presets.
