Marine Displacement Estimate Calculator

Estimate immersed volume and displacement mass from your waterline dimensions, block coefficient and water density.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

This geometric model uses a single user-supplied coefficient. It does not determine hull form, allowable load or stability, and cannot certify capacity or seaworthiness. Use dimensions and coefficient describing the same immersed geometry.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter positive waterline length, beam and draft in metres.
  2. Enter your own block coefficient and water density. No hull type or water density is preset.
  3. Calculate volume and mass, then copy or download the report.

Formula and units

Immersed volume (m³) = LWL (m) × beam (m) × draft (m) × Cb. Displacement mass (kg) = immersed volume (m³) × water density (kg/m³).

Scope

This geometric model uses a single user-supplied coefficient. It does not determine hull form, allowable load or stability, and cannot certify capacity or seaworthiness. Use dimensions and coefficient describing the same immersed geometry.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does the mass specify how much cargo can be carried?

No. Estimated displacement is not a payload limit or stability assessment. This tool calculates only the stated geometric model.
