Number of legs: 1

This is constant-speed arithmetic only. It does not account for wind, tide, currents, manoeuvring, stops, port conditions or navigation risks, and is not a passage safety assessment.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Add between 1 and 100 passage legs.
  2. Enter each leg distance in nautical miles and a positive constant speed in knots.
  3. Calculate each leg and the total hours, then copy or download the report. Fuel per leg = leg hours × entered L/h. Total fuel = sum of leg fuel. Budget = total L × entered price per L, in the entered currency. Leave price empty for fuel only.

Formula and units

Leg hours = nautical miles ÷ knots. Total hours = sum of leg hours. One knot equals one nautical mile per hour. Fuel per leg = leg hours × entered L/h. Total fuel = sum of leg fuel. Budget = total L × entered price per L, in the entered currency. Leave price empty for fuel only.

Scope

This is constant-speed arithmetic only. It does not account for wind, tide, currents, manoeuvring, stops, port conditions or navigation risks, and is not a passage safety assessment.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does the total predict arrival or a safe route?

No. It sums supplied distances divided by constant speeds and includes no departure time, delays or route safety assessment.
