A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste one pipe-delimited Markdown table with a header row and a separator row.
- Select Convert to JSON to check the table shape and create one JSON object for each data row.
- Review, copy, or download the JSON array.
A focused Markdown table conversion
Enter one pipe-delimited table with a header row and a Markdown separator row. Rows may use optional outer pipes. Empty lines around the table are ignored; other prose or a second table is not accepted.
Preserved text and clear row rules
Each data row becomes an object with the header cells as keys. Values remain strings, empty cells become empty strings, and escaped pipes (\|) are treated as cell text. Headers must be non-empty and unique; every row must have the same number of cells. Inline Markdown formatting is not rendered.
Local processing and limits
Parsing and conversion happen in your browser; the pasted table is not uploaded. The input limit is 1,000,000 characters, with at most 200 columns, 10,000 rows, and 100,000 data cells.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Are numbers converted to JSON numbers?
No. All cell values are JSON strings so identifiers, leading zeros, dates, and exact text are not guessed or changed.
How are alignment markers used?
The separator row is required to confirm a Markdown table. Its colons control visual alignment in Markdown but do not affect the JSON output.
Can I convert Markdown formatting inside cells?
No. Cell content is preserved as plain text, except that an escaped pipe is unescaped into a literal pipe character.
Is my table uploaded?
No. Parsing and conversion run locally in this browser.
