English Morphology Analyzer
Enter one English word. The result is a spelling pattern analysis, not a dictionary lookup or historical etymology.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter one alphabetic English word (3–40 letters).
- Review any detected prefix, suffix, and remaining base.
- Use the confidence note to judge whether the pattern is useful.
Transparent patterns only
This tool uses a compact original list of common English spelling affixes and conservative length checks. It does not use a dictionary, corpus, API, or etymology database.
English scope and limits
Only one ASCII English word is accepted. Irregular forms, borrowed spellings, inflectional changes, and words with no supported pattern are refused rather than guessed.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Is the base a real root?
Not necessarily. It is only the remainder after a spelling heuristic; historical roots require a trusted etymology source.
Why was my word refused?
The input may be unsupported, ambiguous, too short, or contain non-English characters. The analyzer reports only patterns it can explain.
