A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one length unit to use for every dimension.
  2. Enter box count, box dimensions, and usable pallet length, width, and height.
  3. Review total box volume, usable pallet envelope, and their volume ratio.

Volume ratio

Box volume total = box count × box length × box width × box height. Usable pallet envelope = entered usable pallet length × width × height. Cube utilisation = box volume total ÷ usable pallet envelope × 100. Use one common length unit for every dimension.

Not a packing or stability check

This volume ratio does not determine whether boxes fit, can be arranged, stacked, loaded, or transported safely. It ignores orientation, gaps, overhang, weight, crush strength, restraint, and stability. The UNECE/IMO/ILO CTU Code covers practical cargo packing and securing considerations: https://unece.org/fr/imoilounece-code-practice-packing-cargo-transport-units-ctu-code. GHS communicates chemical hazards relevant to handling and transport; it does not certify a pallet arrangement: https://unece.org/transport/publications/globally-harmonized-system-classification-and-labelling-chemicals-ghs-rev6

Manual inputs and local processing

The usable envelope is supplied by you. This calculation runs in your browser and does not inspect packages, a pallet, or transport conditions.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can utilisation exceed 100%?

Yes. That means the entered box-volume total exceeds the entered envelope volume; it does not tell you whether any physical arrangement is possible.

Does a low percentage prove the boxes fit?

No. The calculation compares volumes only and does not test packing geometry, stacking, loading, weight, or stability.
