A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages.
  2. Select the position, format, and starting number.
  3. Add the page numbers and download the new PDF.

Text overlay only

The tool uses pdf-lib to draw page-number text over every page. It does not reflow or rasterize the existing page content.

Limits and local processing

One application/pdf file up to 50 MB and 500 pages is accepted. Processing happens locally in the browser; the file is not uploaded or stored.

PDF compatibility

The output is a reserialized PDF with a new text overlay. Existing forms, signatures, encryption, or reader-specific features may not remain valid or behave identically.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can numbering start at another number?

Yes. Enter any integer from 0 through 999999.

What does “Page X of Y” use for Y?

Y is the document page count adjusted to the chosen starting number, so the final label matches the last numbered page.

Will existing signatures and forms remain valid?

Not guaranteed. Adding an overlay and reserializing can invalidate signatures or affect forms and reader-specific features.
