Photo Bracketing Sequence Namer

Create a local filename plan for bracketed exposures. This tool generates text only; it does not access or rename photos.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Use 1–80 letters, digits, spaces, underscores or hyphens.

Enter 1–15 distinct exposure offsets from −20 to +20 EV, with at most three decimal places; separate them with commas or whitespace.

Enter a base name, count and exposure offsets.

Each sequence gets one name per exposure offset, in the entered order. Names use .jpg as a naming convention only. No photo is read, renamed or converted.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter a base name and the number of sequences.
  2. Enter the exposure offsets in the required order.
  3. Generate the list and download the TXT file.

Naming pattern

Names follow base_001_EV-2.jpg, base_001_EV0.jpg, base_001_EV+2.jpg. Sequence numbers are padded to at least three digits. Exposure offsets keep their supplied order.

Text plan only

The .jpg suffix is a naming convention, not a file conversion. No image file, metadata, EXIF data or directory is read or changed.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can this rename my photos?

No. It produces a filename list for you to use separately.

Can I repeat an exposure stop?

No. Duplicate offsets are rejected to avoid duplicate names within a sequence.
