A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Paste plain-text PostgreSQL EXPLAIN output.
  2. Select Visualize plan and inspect nested nodes and recognized details.
  3. Fix unsupported or malformed lines when the tool reports a parsing issue.

Local text parser

The viewer accepts common PostgreSQL EXPLAIN text with plan nodes, indentation, cost/rows/width metadata, and detail lines such as Filter or Index Cond. It does not execute SQL or contact a database.

Clear limits

This is a focused text parser, not a complete PostgreSQL grammar. Unsupported formats, continuation layouts, and malformed indentation are reported instead of guessed.

Private in the browser

Your plan remains in this browser. Nothing is uploaded, executed, or connected to a database.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does this run the query?

No. It only parses pasted text locally and renders the information it recognizes.

Which plans are supported?

Common PostgreSQL text EXPLAIN output with indented nodes and metadata such as cost, rows, width, Filter, Index Cond, and Join Filter.

Why was my plan rejected?

The parser reports unsupported or malformed input when it cannot establish a safe node hierarchy. Check that the plan is plain text with consistent indentation.

Are plans uploaded?

No. Parsing and rendering happen locally in the browser.
