A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter any two of a, b, and c; c is the hypotenuse.
  2. Calculate the missing side and triangle measurements.
  3. Review or copy the results.

Supported inputs and results

Enter exactly two finite positive side lengths. The solver finds the missing side, area (ab/2), perimeter (a+b+c), and the two acute angles. The hypotenuse c must be longer than either leg.

Integer triple check and local calculation

A Pythagorean triple is reported only when all three calculated sides are safe integers and the exact integer equality a²+b²=c² holds. Decimal and rounded near-matches are not labeled triples. All validation and calculation happen in your browser; values are not uploaded or stored.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can I enter all three sides?

Enter exactly two sides; the solver calculates the third and derives the other measurements.

Which side is c?

c is the hypotenuse, opposite the right angle, and must be the longest side.

Does “integer triple” include decimal sides?

No. The label is yes only for safe integer side values that exactly satisfy the Pythagorean equation.
