A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter one candidate per line; blank lines are ignored.
- Choose Pick a random item.
- Read the selected candidate.
Local and unbiased
Candidates stay in your browser. The picker uses Web Crypto with rejection sampling so each non-empty line has the same chance, without a network request or saved list.
Empty lines
Blank or whitespace-only lines are ignored. If no non-empty candidates remain, the tool asks you to enter at least one item.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Are my candidates uploaded?
No. The list and selection are processed locally in your browser.
Can two identical lines both be selected?
Yes. Each non-empty line is treated as a candidate, even when two lines have the same text.
Why does the picker use rejection sampling?
It avoids the small bias that can occur when a random 32-bit value is reduced with a remainder.
