Every result is locally administered unicast. Check your network for conflicts before assignment.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose colon, hyphen, or Cisco dot notation.
  2. Set a count from 1 to 100.
  3. Generate and copy the newline-separated addresses.

Fixed local unicast semantics

Every generated address has the locally administered bit set and the multicast bit cleared. It is therefore a locally administered unicast value, not a claim about a registered vendor address.

Check for conflicts before use

Random generation does not reserve an address or inspect your network. Confirm that a value is unused before assigning it to an interface.

Browser Web Crypto

All six bytes come from crypto.getRandomValues and remain in this page. Generation stops if Web Crypto is unavailable.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does the prefix identify a hardware vendor?

No. The locally administered bit is set, so the value is intended for local assignment rather than vendor identification.

Are the results multicast addresses?

No. The multicast bit is always cleared, making each generated result a unicast address.

Are values guaranteed unique?

Duplicates are removed within one batch, but the tool cannot detect addresses used elsewhere.
