How to use this tool

Fair local shuffle
The tool uses Web Crypto with rejection sampling for an unbiased Fisher–Yates shuffle. Names stay on this device and no external API is used.
Two team sizing modes
Team count mode distributes leftover members one by one across the first teams. Team size mode creates teams up to the requested size and leaves the final team smaller when needed.
Bounded input
Each request accepts up to 50,000 characters and 1,000 non-empty members.

Common questions
Are duplicate names allowed?
Yes. Each non-empty line is treated as a separate person, even when names repeat.
Is the assignment sent anywhere?
No. Parsing, shuffling, and team creation happen locally in your browser.
How are uneven teams handled?
Team count mode gives the remainder to teams one at a time. Team size mode keeps the last team smaller.
