Remove Leading Zeros
Enter one signed decimal number to remove only redundant integer-part zeros locally in your browser.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter a signed decimal number.
- Click Remove leading zeros.
- Review and copy the normalized value.
Signed decimal input
Use ASCII digits with an optional leading plus or minus sign and one optional decimal point. The integer part may contain leading zeros; the fractional digits are preserved exactly.
Zero and decimal correctness
All-zero integers become 0, so 000 becomes 0 and -000.00 becomes -0.00. A decimal point and its fractional zeros are never removed.
Exact and bounded
The value is normalized as text without floating-point conversion. Inputs are limited to 100,000 characters and are processed in your browser.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Are signs preserved?
Yes. A leading plus or minus sign stays in the result, including for zero.
Are fractional zeros removed?
No. Only redundant zeros in the integer part are removed; 000.0400 becomes 0.0400.
Can I enter a decimal without an integer digit?
No. Enter a decimal integer part, such as 0.5 or 000.5.
