A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste plain text and enter a non-empty search text.
- Choose remove or keep, substring or whole-word matching, and case sensitivity.
- Review the counts and copy the filtered output.
Plain-text matching
The query is treated as literal text, never as a regular expression. Substring matching finds the query anywhere; whole-word matching requires non-word boundaries around it.
Line and newline handling
Each existing line is evaluated independently. Line contents are preserved, and LF, CRLF, and CR input separators are accepted; output uses the first detected newline style.
Local limit
Input is limited to 1 MiB. Text stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this use regular expressions?
No. The query is always literal plain text.
What is a whole-word match?
It matches only when the query is not adjacent to a Unicode letter, number, or underscore.
Are blank lines preserved?
Yes. Blank lines are treated as lines and are kept or removed according to whether they match the query.
