A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter total rent and choose a split method.
- Add up to 20 people and their relevant values.
- Calculate exact cent amounts; the displayed shares add to the rent total.
Four weighting methods
Even gives every row one weight. Income, room size, and nights use the corresponding non-negative value as each row’s weight.
Exact cents
Shares are allocated in integer cents. Whole cents are assigned first, then leftover cents go to the largest fractional remainders in row order.
Local calculation
Names and values stay in this browser. The tool does not process payments or provide financial advice.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
How is a tie handled?
Ties receive the leftover cents in the order the rows appear.
What if all weights are zero?
The calculation is rejected because there is no basis for a weighted split.
