A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter a whole number from 2 through 200 teams.
- Choose a single or double round robin.
- Read the total matches, minimum rounds, and the note about byes for an odd team count.
Formula
Single round robin: n(n−1)/2 matches. Double round robin: n(n−1) matches. Single-format rounds are n−1 for an even team count and n for an odd count; double-format rounds are twice those values.
Result boundary
The round count is the minimum when every team plays at most once per round. The tool does not order fixtures, assign dates or venues, resolve rest constraints, or provide sporting or betting advice.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What happens with an odd number of teams?
One team has a bye in each round, so a single round robin needs n rounds and a double round robin needs 2n.
Does it create a fixture schedule?
No. It only counts matches and minimum rounds.
