RSS & Atom Generator
Edit channel metadata and up to 20 articles, then generate XML as text. Import a supported RSS or Atom document to edit its mapped fields.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter channel title, website URL, description, language and self feed URL.
- Enter 1–20 article objects with title, link, date and author; optionally description or html.
- Generate RSS or Atom, inspect the text, and copy or download. Import XML to edit supported fields.
Supported local model
RSS 2.0 and Atom 1.0 only. Input/output XML and article JSON: 100,000 characters; XML nodes: 5,000; XML depth: 100; articles: 1–20. Titles/authors: 300 characters; URLs: 2,000; descriptions/HTML: 5,000; language: 80. URLs must be absolute HTTP(S) without credentials. Language uses an Intl-supported BCP 47 tag. Dates must be real UTC instants, YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ, years 1000–9999. No URL fetch, upload, storage or article HTML rendering.
Import and format differences
Import maps title, site, description, language, self link and article title/link/date/author/content. RSS descriptions are treated as HTML strings; Atom text/html is supported, not XHTML or external content. Missing channel fields stay blank. Required article fields must exist. RSS import accepts UTC GMT/UTC/UT/±0000 dates; Atom accepts UTC seconds or .000Z only. DOCTYPE, entity declarations, malformed XML and unsupported roots are rejected. Extensions, enclosures, categories, original IDs and other metadata are discarded with a visible notice. IDs are rebuilt from URLs; Atom updated dates use article publication dates, and feed updated is their maximum. RSS names use dc:creator. Comments, whitespace and original XML bytes are not retained.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Is imported XML preserved exactly?
No. Only the supported fields are mapped. Keep the original if extensions or byte fidelity matter.
Does this publish a feed?
No. It produces a local XML file; hosting and publication are outside this tool.
